Purpose and Objectives

The Urban Habitat is a noxious weed eradication task force that ambitiously aims at tackling an area along the SLC foothills from The Huntsman Cancer Institute to This Is The Place Heritage Park.

The plants in focus are those listed as noxious weeds of Salt Lake County and include Dalmation Toadflax (Linaria dalmatica), Myrtle Spurge (Euphorbia myrsinites), Dyer’s Woad (Isatis tinctoria), and Houndstongue (Cynoglossum officinale).

In addition to recording and controlling noxious plant species, we also aim at educating all you fine people on the native local flora and other associations.

Join us! Help save our precious foothills from the encroaching noxious weeds, learn about the ecology, classification, and diversity of plants and wildlife in our ecosystem and meet great people.
